Hand woven from Elephant grass these versatile baskets are strong, durable & long lasting.

Handcrafted by the Gurunsi people of Ghana. This basket has a long black handle covered in black leather.

A little bit about us …. African Queen Baskets is an enterprise, which embraces the philosophy of trading fairly. My aim is to be a channel through which talented artisans gain empowerment through their own enterprise, while maintaining their longstanding artistic traditions.

I am proud to be part of sustainable relationships with artisans in Sub-Saharan Africa knowing that their endeavours are an important contribution to the livelihoods of whole communities. African Queen is an Australian women’s run business in northern NSW.
